Winter London Cruises
Taking in Little Venice, Regents Park, London Zoo, The West End, Camden Market, Kings Cross, Islington, The East End, The Olympic Park and Limehouse Basin, the canals and rivers of London offer a truly alternative way of seeing London.
The English Canal System (with over 2,000 miles of navigable canals and rivers) was developed between the mid 18th and 19th centuries to facilitate the mass-transport of goods which was crucial to the progress of the Industrial Revolution. Thanks to the efforts of many enthusiasts, it is in better shape now than ever. London’s Regents Canal was built in the first quarter of the 19th century to take goods between the ports of the East End and the Midlands and the North via Central London, linking with the Grand Junction Canal at Paddington. Despite all of the redevelopment in the last 200 years, this system is still fully functional but now used almost entirely for leisure purposes. It forms a quiet green corridor from which to view the ever-changing face of the Capital.
An ideal adjunct to a longer stay or as a “stand alone” break, a winter London cruise offers a different perspective on the most vibrant City in the world. You will be the only guests on Isabella so we can tailor your cruise to your exact preferences, we can linger in places of special interest to you, or quietly cruise through the famous areas where road traffic congestion can make sightseeing a stressful experience. We will moor for the night in convenient places leaving you free to enjoy London’s nightlife or perhaps just a leisurely walk along the canal towpath before returning to a comfortable bed in Isabella’s forward guest cabin.
The full cruise is about 16.5 miles (26 Km) with 16 locks and takes about 13 hours (2 full cruising days) to complete, however many guests choose to extend this to 3 or more days, using the boat as a base for sightseeing, alternatively you may only have time for a shorter cruise of a specific area, the choice is yours.
The cost of a Winter London Cruise aboard Isabella is £250.00 per 24 hour period per couple and is inclusive of all meals and accommodation. We offer a 25% discount for single occupancy for the lone traveller.
